Designing and Editing an Award-Winning Magazine

I am Director/Founder as well as Editor and Designer of an award-winning village magazine, ‘The Broadway Magazine’. The publication focusses on local businesses, village news, events and updates from local organisations, in order to support and connect the community.

Director/Editor roles performed include;

  • Developing strong relationships with businesses, contributors and other organisations
  • Working with businesses for partnerships and sponsorships
  • Managing advertising sales and bookings
  • Content planning

  • Proofreading and editing articles. Ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date and relevant
  • Managing team of proofreaders
  • Managing content submissions and ensuring deadlines are met
  • General business admin and finance management

  • Designing magazine/editorial layouts
  • Working on layout, design and typography of articles
  • Image sourcing and editing
  • Communicating with contributors and sending proofs for approval
  • Ensuring all pages are checked thoroughly before they are sent to press
  • Managing final delivery of printed product
  • Publishing online magazine and updating WordPress website
  • Designing and sending of emails and managing mailing list via MailChimp
