Whether you’re looking to discover how I can help you with your business, or have a specific brand design project in mind, I’d love to talk with you!
There’s a few questions I’m asked time and time again, so hopefully the below might answer any initial queries you may have and help you to decide if we’re a good fit!
Preparation is key and depending on the type of work we’re going to be doing together, I have a few initial requirements in order for a project to be ready to go ahead. Anything required to progress must be ready by an agreed start date, unless agreed otherwise. Failure to do so could result in a project needing to be rescheduled to a later date and/or an additional fee to restart another time.
Branding Project Requirements
If you’ve booked me for a branding package, I need you to have completed your Brand Design Workbook. This will give me a good idea about your business and where you’re wanting to be positioned, and what you’d like to achieve. You must have already established your business name, who your target audience is and what your products and services are. The more detailed, the better!
Website Project Requirements
For website projects, a large amount of preparation needs to be done in order for me to start the work. Initially, I’ll ask you to complete a Website Design Workbook which will provide me with everything needed to be able to create a design that not only aligns with your brand, but will also help you to achieve your business objectives. You will also need to provide brand guidelines, logo files and website content (imagery and text).
If you need help with writing website or brochure content, or copy for other marketing materials, I highly recommend working with a copywriter (who can also take into account your SEO requirements, where applicable).
I understand that investing in your brand and website is a big investment. Payments for projects are split up into 2 payments (a 50% non-refundable deposit, and 50% remainder on completion of your project/before delivery). If a project is likely to be spread over several months, I will ask that payments are made in regular instalments (which helps with cash flow for me!) – this will be discussed on an individual project basis.
For consultancy and 1:2:1 sessions, payment in full will be required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
No. All deposits are non-refundable. I book projects several months ahead of time which allows me to ensure that I am fully available for each client and am able to give their project the amount of time they each deserve. I also put in advance work to prepare for a project and deposits cover the incurred time to do this. Due to this, I also decline work for your scheduled dates which if then cancelled, leaves an empty spot in my schedule which could have been given to someone else, and means that I would lose out on income.
Over the last decade of working with clients on a multitude of design projects, I have also found that those who commit financially prior to a project starting are serious about moving forward and are willing to put the work required into seeing a return on their investment and efforts.
Sometimes things out of our control can happen and as such, if a project needs to be rescheduled to a later date without detriment to my work flow, I will always do my best to accommodate for this. This does not include failure to meet project start requirements and deadlines not being met. An additional deposit fee may be required in order to restart another time. Rescheduling and additional fees will be at the discretion of Charli Peake.
If a consultancy or 1:2:1 session needs to cancelled or rescheduled 72 hours or more before your session start date/time, any payments made are non-refundable but will be transferrable to another date to be taken within 2 months of the original session date (choice of dates to be offered by Charli Peake). Any cancellations under 72 hours are non-refundable and payments non-transferrable.
This entirely depends on how my schedule is currently looking. I generally ask for advance notice of 4-8 weeks before starting a project, however there may be a gap where I can fit in your project before another is due to start. This will be at my discretion so as to not do your own project a disservice by rushing it, nor affect my ability to provide my services for another pre-booked project.
I create a timeline for every project I work on which is accommodates enough time to do thorough research and carefully create your designs, as well as allowing time for communication in between and making any refinements required.
Yes, please. I usually try to book about 4-8 weeks in advance, so please get in touch with me as soon as you know you’re going to need something creating, or think you may need help/consultancy… and well in advance of your deadline! The more time we have to prepare, the better.
No, this is not a service I am equipped to offer. I am however very experienced in establishing full material and print specifications (and most marketing materials I work to create include this as standard), as well as being able to advise on and specify any special finishes.
I have a wonderful selection of excellent print companies that I have worked with on a variety of printed materials in the past, and will always recommend the most appropriate for your project.
Bookings are taken a minimum of 4 weeks in advance. During this time, you will be expected to work through your Brand Design Workbook and provide this in time for the project start date.
The actual time required for a brand design project entirely depends on the complexity of each individual project. An estimate for a brand design project is 4-6 weeks from the project start date.
Additional time may need to be taken into consideration for photo shoots or creating additional brand assets and marketing materials.
I fully believe in the power of a holistic approach to brand design and a logo alone will not help you to connect with your audience, set you aside from your competitors or achieve your business goals. It’s for this reason that I do not take on logo only projects.
An effective brand identity will ensure that every aspect of your business reflects your business values, and as a bare minimum, my Brand Essentials Package will provide you with a logo, colour palette and typography to use across all of your business touch points.
Every project starts with an in-depth design questionnaire to ensure that I have a thorough understanding of your project requirements and that we’re on the same page.
If for some reason you are still not happy after three rounds of refining your design, we will continue the refinement process at my current hourly rate.

I have used WordPress for over a decade and believe it to be the best user-friendly platform and intuitive Content Management System (CMS) for the majority of businesses. WordPress is highly flexible and scalable to be able to adapt as your business grows. A huge range of plugins are also available depending on your business needs, which can extend the functionality of your website without the need for costly custom development to make it happen. It also integrates with a range of third-party tools for payments, marketing, business development, business admin and social media, making your workflow as seamless as possible.
All of my website design packages include a 1:1 60-minute training session at the end of the project, which will leave you with the knowledge to be able to edit your website content and maintain it on your own.
All of my website design packages include basic SEO set-up with page titles and short descriptions, written to the best of my ability. Please note however, I am not an SEO specialist and as such, if you require specific SEO services, I recommend hiring an SEO expert and copywriter to help with this.
No. I have never believed in holding my clients captive by hosting their websites and charging a monthly fee/payment plan and as such, always ask that you purchase and set up your own website hosting packages (where I will recommend the most appropriate for your project). I also don’t believe in charging for time you may not need.
If you need help updating your website, adding new pages, or need any other design or marketing materials creating, you can book a session with me, where my time will be dedicated to getting these things done for you. Please let me know what you’d like doing, and I can let you know how long will be required to carry out the work and whether I can do this remotely, or if a 1:2:1 session needs to be arranged.
