A New Brand Identity for Cotswold Magic Carpets & Floorcare

Cotswold Magic Carpets and Floorcare is a business run by Kim and Chris Golding. Established in 2020, they quickly became known for their domestic carpet cleaning services and grew to also provide upholstery cleaning, holiday-let and commercial property cleaning. Their previous identity featured Chris as a magic genie cleaning a flying carpet which had served them well until recently, but as the business and its customer base expanded, Cotswold Magic needed to reflect their wider range of services and the level of skill and professionalism they had garnered from developing their knowledge and investing in equipment.

Kim and Chris didn’t want to completely lose their genie, as they felt like he had become a core part of their brand identity, however refining the character from their painted illustration to a line drawing has allowed for a greater range and application and introduced an elegant, clean and trustworthy look to the brand. The classic serif font, teamed with a script sub-heading to compliment the illustration made the brand feel more personable whilst maintaining a professional look.

Once the brand guidelines were created, the logo and brand colours could then be combined with use of special finishes and luxe materials such as tactile, sumptuous card and embossed foil block print finishes to allow the brand to further cement itself as an established business, and attract clients who wish to align with an aspirational Cotswold aesthetic.

A full set of business stationery was created including letterheads, business cards, compliment slips and postcards, to ensure consistency across all business communications and touch points, whether online or offline.

In development is also a range of professional-standard cleaning products which can be purchased directly from Cotswold Magic and used around the home. As a part of the branding package, mockups of product labels were created to demonstrate application of the brand assets such as the logo, genie illustration, fonts and brand colours. The below 4 product mock-ups shows how the labels can be designed following the brand guidelines to create a coherent brand identity. The actual product labels are still in development and due to launch Autumn 2023.

Point-of-Sale items such as roller banners were also created, and a vehicle livery design for a full vehicle wrap was mocked-up to further reinforce the new brand identity.

With the product packaging in development, and a website re-design scheduled for the new year, I’m looking forward to updating you with more news from Cotswold Magic when the time comes.
